Search Ghana to Host AIRDC Board Meeting

Ghana Insurance Industry has been granted the hosting rights for the next Board of Trustees meeting of the Association of Insurers and Reinsurers of Developing countries (AIRDC) in 2017.

The hosting rights were announced at the close of the 20th edition of the AIRDC conference held in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain from September, 26th – 29th this year.

AIRDC is the umbrella body of insurance and reinsurance companies in developing countries

B&FT gathered that Ghana’s right to host was in appreciation to the massive participation of the country’s insurers at the 20th edition of the conference this year.

Ghana’s Insurance industry outnumbered that of countries from Asia, Latin America and other African Countries which included Kenya, Nigeria and Zimbabwe.

A call has therefore gone out for industry players to take advantage and register for membership in view of the moderate conference fees as the association is a non-profit making but only to share information on insurance matters.

BW also learnt that by registering for membership will boost the countries chances of hosting the next conference in future.
