Products from Ghana record high patronage at China-Africa Economic, Trade Expo

Products from Ghana pulled massive audience and recorded high patronage at the first ever China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo (CAETE) held in Changsha in the Hunan Province of China.

The event, which took place at the Hunan International Convention and Exhibition Centre, saw more than 500 Chinese and African nationals besiege Ghana’s products stand, with a number of purchase made from Some of the companies that showcased their products at the event were the Kasapreko Company Limited,the Gihoc Distilleries, Debbies and Uzuri, both into Shea butter creams.

The arts and craft industry from Ghana also got the attention of patrons with many of their artworks receiving thumbs up from the public.

Ghana is part of 40 countries participating in the maiden CAETE, an event that seeks to further create the platform for China and Africa to deepen their trade relations and economic activities.he exhibiting companies.

Ghana’s delegation

The delegation from Ghana was made up of officials from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA), the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MoTI), the Ministry of Works and Housing and Ministry of Business Development, the Ghana Exim Bank, the Ghana Freezones Board and the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.

The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Samuel Atta Akyea and the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr Carlos Ahenkorah led the Ghanaian delegation.

The ministers from Ghana are expected to make presentations at separate forum.
Patrons

A number of participants applauded the Ghanaian companies for the manner and way their products had been packaged.

Some who spoke to the Daily Graphic said they were attracted to Ghana’s products stand because of the way the products had been packaged and arranged.

A Namibian participant in the event, Mrs Lucia Ludodo, could not choose between products from Kasapreko and Gihoc Distilleries as a result of its packaging.

” I am impressed with the way Ghanaian products have been packaged. I thought the Alomo Bitters and Herb Afrik alcoholic beverages are from the same company only to be told they belonged to two different brands. This is impressive,” she said.

Another participant from Uganda, Valeria Ubangu, said she had heard a lot about Ghana’s shea butter cream and that she decided to come have a look.

“Here am i and i must confess that the packaging is great,” she said.
