Press Release – 2nd Ghana SME Hub in Takoradi

Accra, September 10 Ghana’s foremost business magazine Business World, in conjunction with MTN, Ghana’s leading Telecommunications Company, has today announced 2nd Edition of the Ghana SME Hub scheduled to take place from 1st to 2nd October 2015 at Takoradi.

The much-anticipated event follows the successful launch of the Ghana SME Hub in Kumasi earlier in the year. The Takoradi event is therefore the 2nd in a series of activities that MTN together with relevant local partners are undertaking with the SME Sector in Ghana.

The event which will be held under the theme, “Building Successful partnerships for Business Expansion” has already signed on several partners such as the Sekondi Takoradi Chamber of Commerce (STCC) and the Regional chapter of the Association of Ghana Industries ( AGI) among others.

The Ghana SME Hub comprises a series of events scheduled to be organized for SME business owners and managers to enable them engage with experts on best practices and solutions for managing various components of their business.

The main objective is to promote the growth of the SME market and provide a platform for service providers to engage SME business owners and managers with solutions for managing their business effectively.

Activities lined up for the event in Takoradi include a two-day Business exhibition and workshops at the Akroma Plaza Takoradi and a “Hub truck” which will be positioned at various locations across Takoradi where professional and business advice will be provided to business owners and their managers through one-on-one sessions.

Speaking on the focus on SMEs Angela Ankomah-Boateng, General Manager of Business World said, “ The SME sector in Ghana is poised for growth and we want to be the pioneers in creating a platform to enhance that growth.”

Commenting on the importance of the Ghana SME hub, Sam Addo, General Manager of MTN, said, “most great companies started as SME’s. MTN is confident that businesses that fall in this category will help grow Ghana’s economy.
