GPRTU reduce transport fares by 5%

The Ghana Private Roads Transport Union (GPRTU) has announced a 5 per cent reduction in transport fares after a meeting with stakeholders.

This, according to them, is to reflect the 10 percent decrease in petroleum products announced by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).

The NPA decreased fuel prices to reflect the sharp drop in the prices of crude oil on the world market.

The General Secretary of the Union, Stephen Okudzeto commended the government for helping them reduce their operational costs.

New fares will  be pasted at lorry stations to prevent scuffles between commuters, bus conductors and drivers.
