Autodesk introduces AutoCAD to Ghanaians

Autodesk, a world leader in engineering, 3D design and entertainment software, has introduced its new product, AutoCAD, to the Ghanaian market.

The introduction of AutoCAD will provide business solutions to institutions, especially those in the building and creative industries.

Speaking at the launch in Accra, the Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Dr. Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah, said the adoption of Autodesk software marked the new era for the use of power-driven technology to boost industrialisation in the country.

“The world is now driven by the power of computer where past technical ideologies produced on paper have been translated into a 3D design captured by the Autodesk,” he said.

Dr. Agyemang-Mensah asked players in the building and creative industries to adopt the modern technology software system to make their project appealing to the business world.

He said Ghana had come a long way to be left behind in the technology advancement sector.

Dr. Agyemang-Mensah commended Ideate Technologies, producers of Autodesk software, for the effort to enhance the country’s creative sector.

“The programme has come to develop and enhance output in our various endeavours and we ought to readily embrace and accept them into our various professions.”

Dr. Agyeman-Mensah said if the drawing board and T-square were major design arsenals in the building and creative industry in the past, “today, these have been transformed into what Autodesk is here to formally reveal onto the Ghana market,”.

Ideate determined

The Country Manager of Ideate Technologies, Mr. Uche Ubah, said the introduction of the 3D software and its adoption would revolutionarise Ghana’s building and creative industry sector.

“Ghana now has the chance to improve most of its establishment with the introduction of Autodesk software,” he said.

According to Mr. Ubah, the company has begun a promotion to drive the adoption of Autodesk across various professional disciplines.

“We are committed to growing relationships in Ghana to strengthen the use of Autodesk software in critical areas related to building, infrastructure, manufacturing among others,” he said.
