American Chamber of Commerce elects new president

The Vice-President and Country Manager of Kosmos Energy Ghana, Mr Joe Mensah, has been elected the President of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), Ghana.

He was elected at the chamber’s 14th annual general meeting (AGM) in Accra.

A release issued in Accra by the chamber and signed by the Executive Secretary, Mr Simon Madjie, said, “Mr Mensah, who will serve a two-year term, replaces Mr Philippe Ayivor who successfully served as president of the Chamber for two terms.”

It said Mr Mensah, who worked with IBM for 32 years until he recently joined Kosmos Energy, Ghana, will lead the Board that will provide policy direction for the chamber.

The release said the chamber also elected Mr Felix Addo, a retired PwC country partner, as vice-president and Kwabena Aforo-Addo of General Electric (GE), Mrs Linda Larbi of Equatorial Coca-Cola, Ms Angela Kyerematen-Jimoh of IBM, Kwame Gyan-Tawiah of Cummins Ghana Limited and Jimmy Mauldin of the US State Department as new board members.

The release said Mr Ayivor was honoured for his contribution to the chamber while Messrs Azu Akunor and Leslie Nelson were presented with certificates of appreciation for their services to the chamber.
