Since his appointment as MD of Union Savings and Loans bank, in 2013, Philip Oti-Mensah has leveraged his twelve years’ experience in SME Banking to transform the financial institution into a full-fledged universal bank, OmniBank, which was issued a provisional banking license in December 2015 and expected to make good an initial capitalisation requirement of GH₵120 million.

This means the bank is now able to engage directly in foreign currency transaction, thereby lowering costs unlike previously, when it was done through a third party account.

“Now, our energies are focused on transforming the company into a strong reliable brand, quickly extending our reach across Ghana, and making a foray into Africa,” Oti-Mensah says.
