As Director of the elite firms’ Africa practice, Siaw shuttles between White & Case’s London and Johannesburg offices advising corporates, government, banks and other financial institutions on cross-border project development and finance transactions.

 His significant knowledge and experience of the African markets have helped in working on a number of landmarks cross-border finance deals in the region.

This includes acting for an emerging market private equity fund in connection with a US$60 million credit facility and equity investment provided to a major groundnut oil company in Ghana and for AngloGold Ashanti Limited in its US$1.5 billion refinancing.

Siaw also acted for Dow Chemical Company in its intended US$17.4 billion joint venture transaction with Petrochemical Industries Company and for Barclays Capital, Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley in 9 billion euros financing of Ineos Group’s acquisition of BP’s subsidiary, Innovene, among others
