Vodafone ditches Teletech

Vodafone Ghana has terminated the contract of South African company, Teletech Ghana Limited; the company in charge of their call centre.

The telco has taken over the management and is expected to absorb the call centre’s staff into its staff pool.

Sources say the decision was taken to enable the telco giant grow its customer base; improve its services as well as cutting down cost.

In August this year workers at the call centre abandoned their posts over poor conditions of service.

That was not the first time the workers had embarked on a strike over poor conditions of service.

The workers, who manage about 90 percent of Vodafone’s customer call-ins, have been at logger heads with managers of the call centre Teletech for years over poor conditions of service.
