UMB launches new Visa card

Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), has launched its Visa card dubbed the ‘UMB Visa Classic Debit Card’.

The Chief Executive of UMB, Mr John Awuah, who launched the card said customers and partners of UMB could attest to various initiatives taken by the bank over the past few months to put their interests first.

“These include the opening of several state-of-the-art branches, the significant expansion of the bank’s ATM network, the launch of the UMB and Joy FM Flood Relief Fund and the expansion of its in-branch payment services”, he added.

“The partnership with Visa Inc.”, he said, “demonstrates our commitment to provide greater convenience and enhanced service delivery to our cherished customers. As a customer centric bank, we have listened to our customers and we are very excited to be introducing this product”.

Mr Awuah said the UMB Visa Classic Debit card would give all UMB customers 24/7 access to their funds on UMB ATMs, other Visa-branded ATMs and point of sale terminals worldwide, and added that “Customers of UMB will also enjoy greater security on their transactions as the card uses the most advanced chip and pin highly-secured technology.”

As part of the introduction of UMB Visa to Ghana, he said, UMB was offering free UMB Visa Classic Debit cards to new and existing customers for a limited time only and while supplies lasted basis.

The Director of Marketing and Communications at UMB, Ms Yvonne Botchwey, noted that the bank planned to introduce other VISA-related services to further enhance the bank’s service offering.

“Having Visa is consistent with our philosophy to provide our customers with the very best in financial products and services”, she added.
