Passengers connecting flight in Lome, Togo to destinations in West and Central Africa on ASKY are safe and are in no way affected by the political unrest in the small West African country.
Protesters in Togo want a restoration of the 1992 Constitution which prescribes a tenure of office of a sitting president. If that constitution is restored, the rule by current president, Faure Gnassingbe, will be limited.
However, Pan-African airline, ASKY, which serves about 20 cities in more than 17 countries from its hub in Lome, Togo, said it is in no way affected and assured of passengers’ safety.
” All our flights are on schedule and the safety of all passengers is assured. We have operated since the unrest began and there not been any incident in respect of any passenger or luggage,” Worlanyo Afadzinu, Country Manager of ASKY in Ghana said.
The airline recently announced that it is to restart flight operations to and from West African cities, Monrovia, Freetown, and Banjul on November 1, 2017.
According to the Togo-based airline, passengers on these flights will benefit from a special luggage allowance of 50kg in Business Class and 40 kg in Economy Class.
