The average movement of prices of goods and services over a 12-month period measured as inflation declined to 7.6 percent, the Ghana Statistical Service (GSS) has said.
The September inflation recorded a 0.2 percent decrease from the 7.8 percent recorded in August.
The announcement by the statistical agency means that within the last 12 months, the rate of increase in prices of good and services slowed to 7.6 percent, compared to the figure recorded last month.
Speaking at a press conference this morning, Government Statistician, Dr. Samuel Kobina Annim said the drop in the inflation rate could be attributed to a lower price movement in the items included in the non-food inflation basket.
The food and non-alcoholic beverages group, however, saw an increase of 0.3 percentage points over the previously recorded figure of 8.5 percent.
