Sasol Contemplates Role in Mozambican Gas Commercialization

Sasol-logo2South African petrochemical giant Sasol is monitoring Mozambique’s gas developments with an eye toward its proprietary GTL technology playing a role in the commercialization of the significant reserves discovered.

In an interview with Engineering News Online Sasol’s group executive for South African energy Bernard Klingenberg said, “We are actively engaging with role-players both in southern and northern Mozambique and will, where appropriate, try to participate in the opportunities that then unfold.”

Sasol already holds a small position in Mozambique’s natural gas sector, producing onshore from the Temane and Pande gas fields.
