NPA, Asaga win awards

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and its Chief Executive, Mr Moses Asaga, have received two awards from the prestigious Socrates Committee of the Europe Business Assembly at a ceremony in the film-festival city of Cannes, France.

The NPA received the International Prize for Best Enterprise for 2015 award, while Mr Asaga was honoured with the Best Manager for 2015.

The International Prize for Best Enterprise is for professional achievements in commercial activities and quality.

The Socrates Committee of the Europe Business Assembly has, in the last 15 years, recognised leaders in Business, Science, Education and Culture from more than 20 countries.

The Socrates Nomination Committee nominates individuals and organisations based on recommendations by local respondents and players in the local industry.

In the case of the NPA and Mr Asaga, the committee received recommendations from players in the downstream petroleum industry.

The NPA was nominated for successfully implementing the policy of petroleum deregulation and being innovative in using cutting-edge technology to improve the monitoring of petroleum product quality in the supply chain of the petroleum downstream in Ghana.
