ECG releases load shedding timetable

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has finally released a load shedding timetable to assist Ghanaians plan their day to day activities properly.

The company was supposed to release the timetable earlier this month but suspended it indefinitely.

The current power rationing exercise stems from the halt in the supply of natural gas from Nigeria. Sources say this was caused by labour unrest in the area where Ghana gets her gas.

The supply of the product however resumed on Saturday after workers called off their strike on Friday but the nation’s power producers and distributors are still struggling to meet the generation targets needed for industries, businesses and homes to run.

Currently, the Asogli plant has been shut down whereas the T3 and T2 thermal plants are out of operation.
