Continental Tyres to operate in Ghana

German tyre producers, Continental Tyres are set to begin operation in the country.

The company will use Ghana as their West African office, which will also serve as a distributing channel for sub-Saharan Africa.

Managing Director of the company, Shaun Uys said Ghana’s strategic location, coupled with the relative political stability, makes it a gateway for regional trade and investments into the West African sub-region.

He said their company has formalised their long-term partnership with Rainbow Motors to begin their operation in Ghana as its West African regional headquarters.

He added that the launch of the new legal entity is driven by their African dawn initiative, which recognises the growing economic importance of Africa on a global scale.

“We are here for the long term as the West African region cannot be captured in one day. We believe we have a strong businesses plan; we need to meet and honour the business plan as we satisfy the West African market,” he said.

The new legal entity in Ghana will focus on developing the local market and maximising its exposure across the region as part of the growth strategy in sub-Saharan Africa.

According to the company, the new division, Continental Tyre West Africa will focus on developing the local market and maximising its exposure across the region.
